Principal Production Engineer

About the Role

Join the Production Engineering team at the forefront of reliability, where you will solve complex architectural challenges and shape the technical standards that keep our platform fast and resilient for millions of users. You will act as a strategic leader, embedding with product teams to influence design and engineering practices at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the engagement model between Production Engineering and product teams to ensure high-impact collaboration.
• Lead the resolution of the most technically complex challenges, including multi-region architecture, sharding, and performance optimization.
• Set the technical bar and engineering standards for the team, acting as a mentor and calibration anchor for future hiring.
• Influence the product roadmap by identifying and mitigating technical risks before they impact production.
• Build and implement measurement frameworks to track incident severity, system reliability, and feature launch success.

Requirements

• Extensive experience owning reliability in large-scale distributed systems and navigating complex failure modes.
• Deep technical expertise in systems-level programming languages such as Java, Go, Rust, or C++.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, including process scheduling, memory management, and networking.
• Proven ability to influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries and lead in an embedded engineering model.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes orchestration, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and advanced observability tooling.

Nice-to-Haves

• Deep knowledge of JVM internals, including garbage collection tuning and thread profiling.
• Experience with large-scale data store migrations or multi-region architecture implementations.
• Background in enterprise SaaS environments with a mature approach to production engineering.
