Principal Software Engineer - Mobile Platform

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction for our hybrid mobile architecture, focusing on React and React Native to maximize reusability and performance.
• Lead the development of mobile capabilities and core libraries that enable product teams to ship native-quality experiences efficiently.
• Remain hands-on by writing production code, performing code reviews, and mentoring Staff and Senior engineers to ensure architectural excellence.
• Partner with cross-functional product groups to drive consensus and influence technical decisions across the organization.
• Optimize mobile performance, reliability, and runtime efficiency on real-world devices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and evolving large-scale hybrid mobile architectures in production environments.
• Deep technical fluency in React Native, iOS, and Android native fundamentals.
• Proven track record of leading complex migrations or architectural shifts on mature, high-traffic mobile products.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and align teams on a clear technical vision.
• Active individual contributor who is comfortable writing and committing code daily.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with system languages like Rust or C for building portable, cross-platform libraries.
• Contributions to the open-source mobile ecosystem (e.g., React Native, Expo).
• Expertise in mobile CI/CD pipelines, release trains, and over-the-air updates at scale.
• Practical experience with agentic AI orchestration in engineering workflows.
