Product Manager, Payments

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the product roadmap for payment methods and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with Kraken's strategic goals.
• Conduct thorough market research, competitor analysis, and user feedback to identify new opportunities and optimize existing payment flows.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, design, legal, compliance, and operations teams to deliver robust, secure, and user-friendly payment solutions.
• Monitor and analyze key payment performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and driving data-informed product decisions.
• Ensure all payment products adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, security standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Product Manager, with a strong focus on payments products or financial technology.
• Deep understanding of payment systems, gateways, processing, and relevant regulations (e.g., PSD2, KYC/AML).
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts and business requirements into clear, actionable product specifications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across all levels of an organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to product development.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Direct experience in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry.
• Familiarity with global payment landscapes and emerging payment technologies.
• Experience with fraud prevention and risk management in payments.
