Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and actively participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and maintainable APIs.
• Actively participate in product work, providing technical feedback and suggesting product improvements.
• Contribute to the shared codebase, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues across the platform.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects.
• Strong proficiency with Postgres or similar relational databases.
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins).
• Ability to design solutions with performance, scalability, and maintainability as primary considerations.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Functional Programming languages, specifically Elixir or Erlang.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks like React/Next.js.
