Senior Backend Engineer - China Trust & Care

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power core platform capabilities and safety features.
• Develop scalable systems to support platform compliance, trust, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Improve the reliability, performance, and observability of critical backend services.
• Lead technical discovery and architecture design while mentoring team members to foster engineering excellence.

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience, with proficiency in Java or similar object-oriented languages.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining reliable, scalable distributed systems.
• Strong systems thinking mindset with the ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term platform evolution.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, cross-functional teams.

• Experience with service-to-service APIs, data enrichment pipelines, or intelligent routing systems.
