Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

You will play a pivotal role in shaping our platform's architecture while leveraging automation and AI to redefine how we deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for our HR and Payroll products.
• Design and operationalize agentic workflows to automate development cycles and improve delivery speed.
• Mentor fellow engineers, provide constructive code reviews, and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Debug complex technical issues and implement performance-oriented, accessible API designs.
• Collaborate with product teams to suggest improvements and define technical specifications.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Professional experience with Elixir and Phoenix, or deep expertise in functional programming with a willingness to master Elixir.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and experience managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Demonstrated ability to design and iterate on automation or agentic workflows.
• Strong systems thinking and the ability to define clear technical specs and verification loops.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Frontend experience with React or Next.js.
• Background in building reusable primitives for distributed systems.
