Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Role Impact and Context

This role is integral to one of our cross-functional development verticals, working with a modern stack centered around Elixir and Phoenix. You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to directly influence product direction while working asynchronously across continents.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and maintainable APIs.
• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team technical initiatives.
• Actively participate in product discussions, using technical expertise to suggest and implement product improvements.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues.
• Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers on the team.
• Investigate, propose, and implement platform improvements.

Essential Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer working extensively with Elixir, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects.
• Proven experience with relational databases, specifically Postgres or similar technologies.
• Experience working within a mature CI/CD environment (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Desirable Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks like Next.js, React, or Vue/Angular.
