Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

About the Role

Join our engineering team to build scalable, high-impact HR and payroll solutions that empower global organizations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our platform architecture while leveraging automation and AI to redefine how we deliver software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives.
• Design and operationalize agentic workflows to accelerate delivery and improve system reliability.
• Build reusable agentic primitives and verification loops to ensure secure, scalable code.
• Mentor fellow engineers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of shipping production-grade systems.
• Professional experience with Elixir and Phoenix or similar functional programming environments.
• Practical experience designing automation or agentic workflows and iterating on them.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Demonstrated AI fluency and the ability to integrate AI capabilities into engineering processes.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containerization.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
• Frontend experience with React or Next.js.
• Background in domain-driven design and complex system architecture.
