Senior Backend Engineer - Grafana App Platform

About the Role

Join Grafana Labs, an open-source powerhouse, to play a critical role in evolving Grafana's core architecture into a fully multi-tenant, scalable observability app platform for OSS and proprietary applications.

Responsibilities

• Code new features and iteratively enhance the operational experience of developed systems based on production insights.
• Author, contribute to, and review technical design documents.
• Actively participate in shaping the product roadmap.
• Mentor and support team members while collaborating across organizational teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations (weekday 12h x 5d and weekend 24h x 2d) to ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• Proven strong coding skills and significant operational experience, including responsibility for the software you have built.
• Experience working on large-scale SaaS platforms, dealing with distributed systems challenges like scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, and High Availability (HA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of expressing complex ideas clearly.
• A collaborative mindset, willing to work across teams, align plans with stakeholders, and be open to feedback.
• Pragmatic approach, prioritizing progress over perfection and comfortable handling ambiguity.
• Familiarity with Golang or a strong enthusiasm to learn the language quickly.
