Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Implement and manage cloud-native solutions and infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and security of applications.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in backend development with Node.js.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway).
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Ability to design and implement highly performant and secure RESTful APIs.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Experience working in a remote, full-time capacity, preferably from Romania.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.
• Knowledge of other backend languages or frameworks.
