Senior Data Analyst, Marketing Analytics

About the Role

Join GitLab's Marketing Analytics team as a strategic partner to Marketing leadership, shaping how we measure and optimize marketing performance using data and AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Marketing and Developer Relations leaders, providing data-driven insights.
• Establish and scale proactive insights across the Marketing function, including experimentation and connecting marketing credit to revenue.
• Measure the impact of community programs, developer advocacy, and evangelism efforts.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of demand generation programs.
• Partner with Analytics Engineering and Data Platform teams to translate business questions into technical requirements.
• Help evolve GitLab's multi-touch attribution approach.
• Contribute to annual planning cycles through partnership with Sales, Finance, and Product leadership.
• Utilize AI-enabled analytics workflows (e.g., GitLab Duo Agent Platform, Claude) to enhance insight development and sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics engineer role, preferably in B2B software marketing analytics.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience in cloud data warehouses like Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of B2B marketing funnel metrics (MQLs, SQLs, pipeline, attribution, conversion rates).
• Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
• Proficiency with a business intelligence and visualization tool, preferably Tableau.
• Experience with AI-assisted analytics development.
• Familiarity with Git workflows for version control and collaboration.
• Comfort working in a remote, async-first, globally distributed environment.

The Marketing Analytics team is part of GitLab's Enterprise Data organization, partnering closely with Marketing, Product, and Sales. You'll join a fully remote team that builds and maintains scalable data products to inform strategic decisions and drive alignment across business metrics.
