About the Ads Data Science Team
The Ads Data Science team at Reddit is dedicated to maximizing advertiser value by leveraging robust data foundations, metrics, and strategic insights. We tackle a wide range of challenging problems in areas such as ads and platform measurement, campaign and creative management, advertiser growth and retention, monetization, and the intersection of brand and community engagement. We are a highly collaborative team of passionate data scientists and engineers, constantly pushing the boundaries of machine learning and statistical modeling.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and application of data science methods to optimize Reddit's advertising platform and maximize advertiser value.
- Design, implement, and analyze experiments to generate strategic insights into ads performance, user behavior, and monetization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain robust data foundations, metrics, and reporting to monitor the health and growth of the ads business.
- Apply advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems related to advertiser growth, retention, and campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and sales teams to translate insights into actionable strategies and product features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role, with significant experience in the advertising, monetization, or growth domain.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, experimental design (A/B testing), and machine learning techniques.
- Expert-level skills in SQL and programming languages like Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing environments.
Nice-to-Haves
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with the digital advertising ecosystem, including ad serving, targeting, and measurement.
