Senior Detection and Response Engineer

About the Role

Join Zapier's Intelligence, Detection, and Response (IDR) team to play a central role in protecting our systems, data, and customers. This Senior IDR Engineer position offers the exciting opportunity to lead and grow our vulnerability management and detection engineering initiatives, directly impacting the security and privacy of millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic vision for identifying, assessing, and remediating security risks across our infrastructure and applications.
• Design, develop, and refine robust security detections to identify threats and anomalous behavior.
• Contribute to the management, optimization, and evolution of our SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platform.
• Lead and manage complex security incidents from initial detection through to resolution and post-incident analysis.
• Drive program leadership in key security areas, including vulnerability management and detection engineering.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in vulnerability management, including developing and implementing risk identification and remediation strategies.
• Strong background in detection engineering, with hands-on experience creating and tuning security detections.
• Practical experience with SIEM platforms for logging, alerting, and incident investigation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively manage security incidents.
• Experience combining deep technical work with program leadership in a security context.
