Senior Developer Experience Engineer

About the Role

Join Camunda as a Senior Developer Experience Engineer to significantly enhance the productivity and satisfaction of our global engineering teams by optimizing our internal tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain internal developer tools, platforms, and services that improve the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams across multiple geographies to understand pain points and translate them into robust, scalable DX solutions.
• Drive adoption of best practices in areas like CI/CD, local development environments, observability, and testing infrastructure.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and documentation to engineering teams on utilizing DX platforms effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering, with significant focus on developer tooling, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Deep expertise in modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language relevant to backend/tooling development (e.g., Go, Java, Python).
• Experience managing and optimizing containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) in a production or large-scale development context.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between infrastructure needs and developer requirements.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working with workflow or process automation engines (e.g., Camunda Platform itself).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and associated developer services.
• Background in performance tuning and optimizing build times for large codebases.
