Senior Engineering Manager

Join Lightning Labs as a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale our growing engineering organization, tackling novel technical challenges and shaping the future of Bitcoin technology.

Responsibilities

• Hire, grow, and mentor an engineering team, fostering harmony and individual satisfaction.
• Manage cross-functional projects, allocate engineering resources, and prioritize initiatives.
• Conduct software architecture design review and analysis.
• Develop and own engineering processes to ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and robust software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a systems domain.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Proven experience managing remote teams across multiple time zones.
• Demonstrated ability to manage or actively contribute to open source projects.
• High-level working knowledge of Bitcoin design principles.
• Highly technical, capable of nuanced and comprehensive analysis of complex technical tradeoffs.
• A strong passion for Lightning Labs' mission and Bitcoin.

Role Impact

• Work directly with the CTO to strategically scale the engineering organization.
• Collaborate across functional team boundaries to ensure proper resource allocation, product quality, and team agility.
