Senior Engineering Manager – Domestic Wires & Real-time Payments

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader to guide our Domestic Wires & RTP team as we build the secure, compliant, and reliable infrastructure that powers critical money movement for businesses. This is a high-impact role where you will shape the future of bank-grade payment systems while leading a talented team through a period of significant growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 7+ backend and full-stack engineers.
• Drive predictable execution of product goals while maintaining high standards for system reliability and technical quality.
• Partner with product and design teams to prioritize high-impact work and simplify complex payment systems.
• Shape organizational structure and coach emerging leaders as the payment rails group scales.
• Balance new feature development with operational excellence and long-term technical strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams at multiple organizations.
• Proven track record of leading through cross-functional coordination and managing high-responsibility domains.
• Strong technical judgment with the ability to interview at a senior IC level.
• Experience in finance, fintech, or banking systems.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and adapt to growing scope.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience leading remote-first or distributed engineering teams.
• Familiarity with the Haskell programming language.
• Direct experience with payment rails and real-time payment systems.
