Senior Engineering Manager - Reliability Testing

About the Role

Lead two high-impact product squads focused on reliability testing, shaping the future of Grafana's performance tooling. This is an exciting opportunity to blend technical leadership, people development, and product strategy in a remote-first, open-source powerhouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop two distributed engineering teams responsible for Grafana Cloud k6 Frontend and k6 Studio.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and career development sessions to guide engineers' professional growth.
• Partner with Product and Design to refine roadmaps, align technical priorities, and deliver great user experiences.
• Translate high-level product goals into actionable engineering plans and iterative deliverables.
• Continuously improve team collaboration, planning, and execution across disciplines.
• Support hiring efforts and capacity planning in collaboration with People Operations.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with senior-level experience building web applications using JavaScript and React.
• Proven record of leading frontend or cross-functional teams at a senior level, focusing on building efficient, high-performing teams.
• Genuine passion for developing people through coaching, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ability to define goals, shape product strategy, and align engineering work with user needs.
• Excellent collaboration skills when working with Product Management, Design, and globally distributed teams.
• Clear, empathetic communication skills, navigating a remote-first, multicultural environment professionally.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with load and performance testing tools or observability products.
• Full-stack experience building and deploying microservices using Kubernetes.
• Experience managing multiple engineering teams responsible for distinct products.
