Senior Engineering Manager - Reliability Testing

About the Role

Lead two dynamic, product-focused engineering squads responsible for Grafana Cloud k6 Frontend and k6 Studio, shaping the future of reliability testing products at a leading open-source powerhouse.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop two distributed engineering teams focused on delivering reliable, high-quality software for performance testing.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and career development sessions to guide engineers' professional growth and foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to refine roadmaps, align technical priorities, and translate product goals into actionable, iterative engineering plans.
• Continuously improve team collaboration, planning, and execution across disciplines.
• Support hiring efforts and team capacity planning in collaboration with People Operations.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with senior-level experience building web applications using JavaScript and React.
• Proven track record of leading frontend or cross-functional teams at a senior level, with expertise in building efficient, high-performing teams.
• Genuine passion for people development, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to help individuals reach their potential.
• Ability to effectively partner with Product Management and Design to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of navigating a remote-first, multicultural environment with clarity and empathy.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with load and performance testing or observability products (as a customer or vendor).
• Full-stack experience building and deploying microservices with Kubernetes.
• Experience managing multiple engineering teams responsible for distinct products.
