Senior Front-End Software Engineer, Design Systems

About the Role

Join our Design Systems team as a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to build and maintain the core component library and tools that power Circle's entire product ecosystem, enabling rapid and consistent product development.

Responsibilities

• Create reusable, accessible, and performant UI components using React and Tailwind CSS.
• Integrate with our Ruby on Rails backend through a REST API.
• Develop critical features and enhancements for the Circle community platform, internal tools, and libraries.
• Improve the quality of our codebase, identify architectural deficiencies, and create achievable paths to solve/evolve them.
• Work closely with Circle's leaders throughout the feature specification and design process.
• Collaborate with designers to develop a world-class user experience.
• Establish and enforce component architecture patterns and best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Front-end Engineer on complex web applications.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and related libraries/bundlers.
• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries.
• Strong judgment in architectural, product, design, and process decisions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous, and collaborative remote environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with agile software development principles.
• Experience working on a fully distributed remote team.
