Senior Frontend Engineer - Datasources

About the Role

Join our AWS Data Sources squad as a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the development of open-source data source plugins for Grafana. You'll empower users to seamlessly query and visualize data directly from AWS within Grafana, contributing to a unified observability experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of open-source data source plugins for Grafana.
• Improve the querying experience within Grafana data sources.
• Investigate and resolve configuration and operational issues.
• Support the reliability and operations of data sources in Grafana Cloud.
• Collaborate with engineers and teams across the Grafana division to drive innovation.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system stability.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Full-stack Engineer with expertise in React and TypeScript.
• Comfortable working in a remote-first environment with strong communication skills.
• Passion for building user-facing open-source software.
• Curiosity, motivation for growth, and ability to thrive in a collaborative setting.
• Experience working on complex technical solutions.
• Familiarity with on-call duties and performing operations/SRE tasks.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with microservices, particularly Go (Golang).
• Familiarity with AWS products such as Cloudwatch, OpenSearch, Redshift, Athena, Aurora, or Amazon Prometheus.
• Knowledge of configuration technologies like Jsonnet and Terraform.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms, including Grafana or Prometheus.
