Senior Frontend Engineer, Design Systems

About the Role

Join Docker's dedicated Design Systems team as a Senior Frontend Engineer to build and evolve the foundational components that power all of Docker's products, ensuring a consistent and scalable user experience across our ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap for Docker’s design system.
• Collaborate closely with designers to implement high-quality, reusable UI components that align with visual and functional specifications.
• Define and drive the evolution of Docker's design system, including evaluating and executing technology migrations (e.g., from MUI).
• Support and maintain the existing design system components, ensuring their stability and performance.
• Champion developer adoption of the design system through comprehensive documentation, offering expert guidance, and leading internal enablement efforts.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating work on design systems or component libraries.
• Expert proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with a component-based framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
• Solid understanding of UI component library architecture and best practices (e.g., accessibility, internationalization).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation for developer consumption.
