Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the core architecture for scalable web video and audio playback.
• Build performance-critical systems that operate beyond typical frontend abstractions.
• Drive resilient rendering and playback experiences across diverse browsers and devices.
• Lead the adoption of next-generation playback technologies on the web.
• Partner with product, editor, and platform teams to deliver playback as a shared capability.
• Improve playback quality, observability, and reliability for millions of users.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in JavaScript at a systems level.
• Experience building video, audio, graphics, or game-like systems in the browser.
• Understanding of rendering pipelines, frame timing, animation systems, or compositor-style architectures.
• Comfort working with canvas, workers, WebGL, WebAssembly, or modern multimedia APIs.
• Proven ability to own ambiguous problem spaces and deliver end-to-end technical outcomes.
• Strong focus on performance, reliability, and scalable browser architectures.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with worker-based or multi-threaded browser architectures.
• Experience with video composition or playback engines.
• Experience with low-level performance instrumentation or quality-of-experience metrics.
