Senior Hardware/Software Installation Technician

About the Role

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Hardware/Software Installation Technician, playing a critical role in modernizing IT infrastructure for vital US Military programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical site surveys to assess infrastructure readiness for IT deployments.
• Document requirements for network and system upgrades, including power, space, cooling, and connectivity.
• Oversee and perform the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT hardware and associated software/firmware.
• Develop comprehensive Site Survey Reports (SSRs) and Installation Design Plans (IDPs).
• Load and configure operating systems and apply system baselines in accordance with cybersecurity standards.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings and ensure field activities comply with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in hardware/software integration and structured cabling.
• Proven experience conducting site surveys for DoD or Federal Government environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for creating network diagrams and rack elevations.
• Strong understanding of power requirements (NEMA plugs, UPS sizing, BTU calculations).
• Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards (single-mode, multi-mode, CAT6).
• Active SECRET clearance required to start; TS preferred.
• Must be able to travel 90% of the time, CONUS and potentially OCONUS.

Nice-to-Haves

• US Army Signal Brigade / DISA / DoDIN network installation/modernization experience.
• Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience.
• BICSI Technician or RCDD certification.
