Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions (Greater China/ Japan)

About the Role

Join Remote as a Senior Lifecycle Specialist to manage complex employee exits and provide expert first-level Employee Relations support across Greater China and Japan, directly shaping the future of global employment compliance.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits (voluntary and involuntary) across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring superior client and employee experience.
• Provide trusted guidance and expert advice on key employment matters, including termination, resignation, transfer procedures, contracts, and redundancy, ensuring strict legal compliance.
• Lead and facilitate critical client meetings, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and settlement negotiations.
• Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex termination scenarios while managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as the first point of informal escalation, mentoring junior team members with expertise in offboarding and employee relations.
• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, guiding clients on progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and product development initiatives within the offboarding and employee relations workflows.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle.
• Strong background in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with sensitivity and legal compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Deep understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
• Superior skills in communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and apply problem-solving skills to provide practical solutions in ambiguous environments.

Nice-to-Haves

• Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law.
• Experience operating within the Greater China and/or Japan employment law frameworks.
