Senior Payroll Associate, Australian Payroll

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end processing of Australian payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure strict compliance with Australian payroll legislation, including tax (PAYG), superannuation, and relevant industrial awards.
• Process new hires, terminations, leave entitlements, and other payroll adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare general ledger journals, and generate comprehensive payroll reports.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Australian payroll, resolving complex queries from clients and employees.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations.

Requirements

• Extensive proven experience in end-to-end Australian payroll processing.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Superannuation Guarantee, and various award interpretations.
• Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems; experience with global payroll platforms is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex payroll concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working in a high-growth Software as a Service (SaaS) company.
• Familiarity with Deel's platform or similar global payroll solutions.
• Relevant professional certifications in payroll or accounting.
