Join GitLab as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our user-facing services and production systems. Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of all user-facing services and production systems.
• Apply a pragmatic operations mindset combined with strong software engineering practices to solve complex infrastructure challenges.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for environment provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production systems and respond to incidents.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve system architecture, performance, and resilience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role in a large-scale production environment.
• Strong background in combining operational expertise with software development skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code principles.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Ruby).
• Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
• This is a remote position based in Australia.
