About the Role

Join our team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer specializing in Database Operations, where you'll ensure the smooth and reliable functioning of critical user-facing services and production systems. This role combines operational expertise with sound engineering principles to maintain high availability and performance for our global platform, working remotely from Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the high availability, performance, and reliability of production database systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and automation solutions for database infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents related to database performance, stability, and data integrity.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to database operations, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and resilience.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database usage and architecture.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or Database Administrator in a large-scale production environment.
• Deep expertise in managing and optimizing relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Ruby, Bash) for automation and tooling.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, high availability, disaster recovery, and data replication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Redis, ClickHouse).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native database deployments.
