Join Affirm, a company reinventing credit to be more honest and friendly, as a Senior Software Engineer. You will build scalable foundational systems and data pipelines crucial for our financial reporting, directly impacting our operational integrity and precision.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly team goals, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve complex problems.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Analytics throughout the product development lifecycle, participating in ideation and articulating technical constraints.
• Proactively identify and lead in solving project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and contributing to on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting and improving code review and design standards, and advocating for them across teams.
• Provide feedback to help develop talent within your team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in backend systems.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain scalable foundational systems and data pipelines.
• Experience working with financial reporting, reconciliation systems, or high-integrity data environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor other engineers.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

About the Team

You will partner closely with our Product and Accounting teams to design robust reporting and reconciliation systems. These systems are vital for delivering accurate and timely data from Affirm’s financial products to our Accounting, Treasury, and Strategic Finance teams, enabling precise operations and forecasting. This role is available remotely in Poland.
