Senior Software Engineer - AI and Automation

About the Role

Join Grafana Labs as a Senior Software Engineer focused on building AI-powered internal tools and agentic workflows to revolutionize our Go-To-Market teams. This is a unique opportunity to architect and implement systems that directly shape how our GTM organization scales, driving efficiency and intelligence across Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end development of agentic and AI-integrated workflows, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Build modular, composable agentic systems using frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, or Anthropic MCP.
• Develop "agentic skills" for SDR and CSM teams, enabling reusable capabilities across interfaces like Slack and internal applications.
• Construct MCP servers, CLIs, APIs, and microservices to integrate AI models with business systems such as Salesforce, BigQuery, and Slack.
• Architect data flows for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), connecting LLMs to internal knowledge bases and customer data.
• Scope and deploy automation workflows using tools like n8n, Zapier, or Prefect, focusing on self-service capabilities.
• Partner with Data Engineering and GTM Systems teams to source and structure data for AI workflows.
• Establish and champion governance and compliance standards for AI workflows, ensuring responsible data usage.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development and systems integration.
• Strong proficiency in Python (preferred) or Javascript/Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) and orchestration libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Experience building internal APIs, microservices, or serverless systems (e.g., GCP Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda).
• Familiarity with SQL and data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery), including querying and data structuring for AI workflows.
• Proven ability to deliver AI-powered features in production environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify high-leverage initiatives.
• Comfort working autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving projects.
• Excellent technical communication skills, able to explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with workflow automation tools like n8n, Zapier, or Prefect.
• Familiarity with observability and feedback loops for AI systems.
• Experience with authentication patterns, secure API handling, and rate limiting.
