About the Role

Join Affirm's Developer Productivity team as a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (CI/CD) to empower over 900 engineers by simplifying and accelerating software development from laptop to production. This high-impact role involves owning and enhancing critical tools and platforms that enable quick, safe, and confident code delivery in a hypergrowth Fintech environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, leading your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and ensuring support throughout delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics stakeholders, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify and lead in solving project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and contributing to on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership within the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on backend systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining developer productivity tools and platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
• Experience with operational support, monitoring, and ensuring the reliability of critical systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

The Developer Productivity team at Affirm is dedicated to making work better for every engineer by simplifying and accelerating software development across the company. We own the entire space between a developer’s laptop and production, including ephemeral dev environments, CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, dependency management, and release engineering. Our mission is to build and maintain tools and platforms that enable over 900 engineers to ship code quickly, safely, and with confidence, making a high-leverage impact in a hypergrowth Fintech environment.
