About the Role

Join Affirm's fully remote Settlements team in Europe as a Senior Software Engineer, Backend. You will be instrumental in building the robust technical foundation that ensures Affirm meets its financial obligations, contributing to a more honest and friendly credit system.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ownership and delivery of quarterly team goals, guiding engineers through complex, open-ended problems.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Analytics stakeholders, contributing to ideation and making informed technical decisions.
• Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business challenges.
• Ensure the operational stability and availability of team systems, including monitoring and on-call support.
• Champion a culture of quality and ownership by defining and improving code review and design standards.
• Mentor and develop team talent, providing guidance and leading by example.

The Settlements team is critical to Affirm, building the technical infrastructure and processes that ensure compliance with financial partners and merchants, with a strong focus on safety and industry standards. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams across North America and Europe, including Product, Treasury Operations, and Customer Success, all within a dynamic remote work environment based in Europe.
