Senior Software Engineer, Backend (CI/CD)

About the Role

Join Affirm's Developer Productivity team as a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (CI/CD). You will be instrumental in reinventing credit by simplifying and accelerating software development for over 900 engineers, owning the critical space between a developer’s laptop and production in a hypergrowth Fintech environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly team goals, guiding engineers through complex, open-ended problems to successful delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, articulating technical constraints, and making informed decisions.
• Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support the operations and availability of team artifacts, including creating/monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call rotations.
• Foster a strong culture of quality and ownership within the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Software Engineer, ideally with a focus on CI/CD and developer tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort navigating ambiguity.
• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (product, design, analytics).
• Familiarity with operational support, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably Fintech.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting (Canada).
