About the Role

Join CoinGecko, a global leader in cryptocurrency data, as a Senior Software Engineer on our Data Platform team. You will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the robust data infrastructure that powers our platform, serving billions and shaping the future of finance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and reliable data platforms and pipelines.
• Implement solutions for large-scale data ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval.
• Optimize data systems for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on data platforms or backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
• Experience with distributed systems and big data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink, Hadoop).
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data warehousing principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design complex, scalable architectures.
• Must be based in Malaysia and eligible to work remotely within Malaysia.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry.
• Familiarity with real-time data streaming and processing.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong technical blog/portfolio.
