About the Role

Join Affirm's Checkout Experience team, where you'll play a pivotal role in reinventing credit by building delightful, user-friendly UIs and APIs for our core checkout experiences. This remote position in Spain offers the exciting opportunity to collaborate with international teams and directly impact how users manage their financial health.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, guiding your team through complex, open-ended problems.
• Collaborate closely with product management, design, and analytics throughout the development lifecycle, contributing to ideation and technical decision-making.
• Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business challenges.
• Support the operational excellence and availability of team artifacts through monitoring, escalation, and on-call duties.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by establishing and improving code review and design standards.
• Contribute to the professional development and growth of engineers on your team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, with a strong background in UI and API development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members.
• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Analytics).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Familiarity with monitoring, operational support, and ensuring system availability.
• Commitment to high-quality code and software development best practices.

About the Team

As part of the Checkout Experience team, you will be instrumental in maintaining the UIs and APIs that power all Affirm checkout experiences. You'll work alongside diverse partner teams across the US and Europe, focusing on feature development and key metrics to ensure users have flexible payment options without compromising their financial well-being.
