Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack

About the Role

Join Affirm's Consumer Growth Experience Engineering team to build the platforms and end-to-end experiences that power consumer growth, shaping high-impact consumer journeys and solving ambiguous growth problems.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Proactively identify, advocate for, and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards.
• Develop talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), including architecture definition, cross-functional launch coordination, and maintaining high reliability.
• Experience working across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues, and improving mobile app developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes.
• Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications.
• Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experienced in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining technical plans for significant feature delivery with elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
• Ability to make significant changes in a large codebase safely and efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

• Familiarity with building scalable, reliable tooling and consumer experiences that enable rapid go-to-market and improve conversion/activation.
