Senior Software Engineer, Growth

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data Ops, and other engineers to research, plan, design, and build features that increase user adoption of the Fleetio product.
• Rapidly create user experiences throughout the application and run experiments aimed at increasing engagement from trial users.
• Build systems to deliver customized onboarding experiences during the trial period and improve existing feature areas to boost usage and reduce churn.
• Play a significant role in setting the technical and product direction for the early-stage Growth engineering team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years of experience working with ReactJS and Typescript.
• Proven experience building full-stack web-based systems and features.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Prior experience utilizing unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous experience working specifically within a Growth engineering team.
• Experience leading small technical teams or projects.
• Familiarity with using and configuring user monitoring and analytics tooling.
• Project experience utilizing TailwindCSS.

This role is part of the Product Engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Manager, Web. Success in this position requires a product-minded approach, a keen eye for UX details, and a passion for data-driven experimentation.
