Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at PerfectScale, you will lead the architecture and development of high-throughput data pipelines and distributed systems that optimize Kubernetes performance for global organizations. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of a pioneering cloud-native platform while working in a collaborative, remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy large-scale distributed systems and high-throughput data pipelines using Go.
• Lead system-wide architectural decisions with a focus on performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Actively contribute high-quality code while mentoring junior engineers and championing best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product and R&D teams to define technical roadmaps and ensure platform reliability.

Requirements

• 8-15 years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years architecting high-load systems or data pipelines.
• At least 2-3 years of commercial experience using Go as your primary programming language.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems using modern languages such as Java, Rust, or Python.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational and analytical databases like Postgres or ClickHouse.
• Proven experience with cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with modern data engineering technologies such as Spark, Trino, Iceberg, or DBT.
• Background in database administration, particularly with OLAP or columnar databases.
• Expertise in telemetry, time series data, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
