Software Engineer, CDN Security

About the Role

Join our CDN Security team as a Software Engineer to protect customer websites from malicious traffic. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of billions of requests, helping Vercel customers only pay for valid traffic. This role offers flexibility with both hybrid (SF, NY, London, Berlin) and fully remote options available based on location.

Responsibilities

• Analyze traffic patterns to identify and mitigate bad traffic and malicious actors.
• Design, build, and operate a scalable, low-latency Firewall for millions of websites.
• Innovate and advance the state of the art in web security.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience handling denial of service (DoS) attacks.
• Strong knowledge and experience with web servers and network protocols (e.g., HTTP, TCP).
• Proven experience with distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go or Lua.
• Advanced capabilities in Bot Detection and Observability.

About the Team

You will report directly to the head of the CDN Product area, contributing to Vercel's mission to enable developers to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web.
