Software Engineer, Edge

About the Role

Join the Edge team at Vercel to build scalable and reliable systems that power our customer experience by orchestrating deployment, routing, and serving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Scale and improve Vercel's infrastructure, availability, and reliability.
• Identify problems and create tooling and automation to address them.
• Design and debug systems in production environments.
• Work with backend engineers and the product team to enhance platform capabilities.
• Help protect the Vercel platform and customers from abuse.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Deep experience with scaling high-performance systems in the cloud.
• Knowledge and experience with web servers and network protocols.
• Comfortable working in Golang.
• Familiarity with Cloud Services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or others).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Lua.
• Experience with React and Next.js.

About the Team

As a member of the Edge team, you will be responsible for capabilities and tooling that leverage Vercel's and other cloud providers' infrastructure for networking, TLS termination, routing, storage, caching, and other novel edge services to serve petabytes of data and billions of requests.
