Software Engineer II, Backend

About the Role

Join our Furnishing Platform team to build scalable systems and data pipelines that power consumer credit reporting, playing a vital role in delivering accurate financial data to Consumer Reporting Agencies.

Responsibilities

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases, collaborating with others for timely completion.
• Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions.
• Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support operational efforts for team artifacts.
• Engage in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems building blocks and technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Spark.
• Ability to translate simple problems into solutions interacting with multiple software components.
• Experience writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Demonstrated ownership of growth, proactively seeking feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
