Software Engineer II, Backend

About the Role

Join the Card team at Affirm to develop and implement complex backend systems that power a seamless checkout experience for users of Affirm's card products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement complex software systems for the Card Checkout team.
• Support the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics.
• Engage in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write high-quality, understandable, and extensible code.
• Experience debugging code and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with full-stack development.
• Familiarity with in-app experiences for card products.
