Software Engineer II, Backend

About the Role

Join Affirm's Consumer Authentication Engineering team to build secure and seamless account creation and access experiences, balancing user experience with robust security and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch backend systems for consumer authentication flows.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation and technical decisions.
• Support the operations and availability of team's services, including monitoring and on-call duties.
• Contribute to team growth through participation in the interview process and code reviews.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in backend development with Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in taking a problem from concept to a multi-component solution with well-tested code.
• Ability to navigate large codebases, debug, and provide constructive code reviews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for global team collaboration.
