Software Engineer II

About the Role

As a Software Engineer II, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining our checkout-critical Merchant Data Platform, a foundational backend service that handles millions of requests daily and supports merchant identity and data across all touchpoints. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact systems from a remote role in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Break down complex projects into manageable tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely completion.
• Support peers and stakeholders by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics teams, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs.
• Support the operations and availability of your team’s services by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in “keep the lights on” and on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team growth and development, including participation in the interview process.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience in designing, developing, and launching robust backend systems.
• Proficiency in either Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with the building blocks and principles of distributed systems.
