Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust observability tools and platforms (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting).
• Implement and improve metrics collection, aggregation, and visualization solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate observability best practices into their services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues by leveraging observability data.
• Contribute to the overall reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on distributed systems or backend development.
• Strong understanding of observability principles (metrics, logs, traces) and related tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Node.js).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team.
• Must be located and authorized to work in Germany.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with incident response and on-call rotations.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Contributions to open-source observability projects.
