Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test high-quality software systems using Python and Kotlin.
• Create tools and libraries that provide foundational functionality for web applications.
• Maintain and improve test, build, and release pipelines.
• Incorporate stakeholder needs and opinions, advocating for ideas and initiatives.
• Provide guidance on core application architectural decisions and drive implementation.
• Collaborate with engineers across the organization on project definition, technical specification, task breakdown, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Engineer and integrate Affirm’s systems with third-party servicing solutions, such as Salesforce Service Cloud.
• Provide support for software systems and associated tooling.
• Debug code issues utilizing data and stack trace analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, OR one year of experience in software application development.
• Experience with Kotlin.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with MySQL.
• Experience with Flask.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage software engineering best practices, including Source Control, Agile Methodology, and Code Reviews, to develop and deploy projects within agreed timelines.
• Proficiency in utilizing modern testing frameworks to write and maintain unit, integration, and functional tests.
• Skill in debugging code issues utilizing data and stack trace analysis.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) design to build scalable, production-ready systems.
