Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Join our Data AI/ML team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to be at the forefront of our AI & Machine Learning initiatives. You will empower our product, business, and engineering teams to leverage AI daily, making a real impact in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and influence Zapier’s machine learning and AI tooling capabilities.
• Provide technical mentorship and assist in scaling AI/ML across the company.
• Write clean Python code with reproducible results for ML models.
• Apply statistical expertise (confidence intervals, regression, significance testing) alongside applied ML/LLM knowledge.
• Create algorithms using strong statistical and mathematical skills.
• Utilize common ML techniques for deep data mining and exploration (predictive modeling, time series, classification, clustering).
• Determine appropriate ML algorithms for tasks, evaluate performance, and select suitable models based on data and problem.
• Develop and improve evaluation frameworks for LLMs, focusing on performance, reliability, and bias.
• Work extensively with user data for feature engineering, model architecture selection, parameter tuning, and model quality evaluation.
• Fine-tune models for optimal performance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience working with Machine Learning (ML) in production.
• At least 1-2 years of experience specific to Large Language Models (LLM).
• Knowledge of ML/LLM data structures and modeling, software architecture, libraries, and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of how LLMs and ML models succeed in a production environment.
