Sr. Software Engineer, Partner Sharing (Backend)

About the Role

Join Zapier's Partner Sharing team as a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build robust and scalable systems that power seamless integrations and data exchange with our partners. This role is crucial for expanding our ecosystem and enabling users to automate across a vast network of applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs for partner integrations.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and solutions.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of partner sharing infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold high engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in a backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Node.js).
• Strong experience with API design (REST, GraphQL) and integration patterns.
• Solid understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with event-driven architectures or message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with Zapier's platform or similar integration platforms.
• Knowledge of security best practices for API integrations.
