Sr. Staff Data Scientist - Ads Measurement, Signals, Privacy

About the Role

As a Senior Staff Data Scientist for Ads Measurement, you will lead the scientific strategy for Reddit's ads measurement and signal systems, serving as the principal architect for our next-generation measurement ecosystem. This high-impact role allows you to redefine how we prove advertiser value and build privacy-aware systems in a rapidly evolving ad-tech landscape.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term data science strategy across ads measurement, signal quality, identity, attribution, and privacy.
• Create rigorous frameworks for validating lift, attribution, identity quality, and modeled conversions.
• Lead the evolution of experimentation and causal inference methodologies, including Brand Lift and Conversion Lift.
• Partner with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and Legal to shape roadmap decisions and translate complex scientific tradeoffs into business recommendations.
• Mentor Staff and Senior data scientists to raise the bar for technical excellence and causal inference across the organization.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, CS) or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years of industry experience in data science, applied science, or economics.
• Deep expertise in ads measurement, experimentation, causal inference, and marketplace measurement.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
• Proven track record of influencing senior cross-functional stakeholders and leading ambiguous, multi-pillar problem spaces.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with privacy-constrained measurement, clean rooms, or consent-aware systems.
• Familiarity with conversion modeling, signal loss recovery, and identity graph evaluation.
• Experience partnering with ranking or bidding teams to connect measurement quality to optimization outcomes.
• Knowledge of Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) or Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA).
