Staff AI/Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the knowledge layer for AI agents, enabling genuine brand understanding.
• Design and implement systems for representing, storing, and updating brand knowledge for AI reasoning.
• Develop agentic search capabilities for dynamic knowledge gap identification and navigation.
• Evaluate and iterate on retrieval and reasoning architectures, driving innovative solutions.
• Translate AI research into production-ready systems to enhance output quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with product and AI engineering teams to ensure the knowledge layer directly impacts user experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in high-performance engineering, preferably in enterprise AI or knowledge-intensive agent systems.
• Proven experience building production agentic workflows and RAG systems, focusing on trustworthy and reliable AI output.
• Deep understanding of how language models represent and use knowledge, including memory architectures and reasoning under uncertainty.
• Experience with LangChain or LangGraph, and strong Python skills, ideally with FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks) and designing large-scale data architectures.
• Strong practical experience identifying limitations in current AI approaches.
• Genuine curiosity about encoding creative judgment and representing implicit knowledge for AI systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of outcomes and clear communication skills.
