Staff Software Engineer - Fraud

Join our Risk product engineering team to build intelligent, automated systems that ensure the safety and delight of thousands of business applications, accelerating founder growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, implementation, and roadmap for core fraud prevention systems.
• Own end-to-end delivery of large cross-functional projects, translating problems into strategy and execution.
• Design, build, and operate highly available, low-latency backend systems for real-time fraud scoring and decisioning.
• Partner with Data Science and ML teams to productionize models and build reliable ML data pipelines.
• Establish and elevate department-level best practices, drive engineering quality, and advise on architectural tradeoffs.
• Mentor and grow engineers, sharing technical direction and learnings.
• Navigate and influence multiple stakeholders, align teams, and resolve cross-team issues.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of software development experience, with a strong backend focus.
• Experience as a technical lead making architectural decisions and articulating technical opinions with tradeoffs.
• Passionately product-minded with experience building and shipping new products, balancing reliability and velocity.
• Comfortable driving discussions in areas with ambiguous ownership, approaching them with empathy and a focus on outcomes.
• Ridiculously helpful, mentoring coworkers and proactively sharing knowledge.
• Knowledge of or excitement to learn Haskell.

• Experience in fintech, fraud systems, or the broader risk domain.
